Songkran Bangkok

Picture this.

The roads are blocked. Thousands of people roam the streets. Guns are everywhere. People are screaming and shouting. To survive, you probably have a gun as well. Otherwise be ready to be shot multiple times.

That may seem like a scene from one action packed movie. But actually it's not. Instead it's a scene from not too far away - Bangkok!

The occasion - Songkran!

And as you probably guesses I was in it. Owh btw, we were not with real guns but water guns!

To be honest I didn't expect such a situation. Sure I've been to Bangkok numerous times now including while Songkran..

But the shopping road of Sukhumvit has been just too cool.. As compare to what it is at Silom Road!

The first day of arrival itself, I already got wet and soaked. Owh and I thought well dressed tourists were not sprayed on. Wrong!

Watered I was. Powdered too! You can say I was a lil taken aback at first.

But as the night passed, I got more accustomed. I was slowly ready to join in the wet fun, albeit slowly. Yes, I was prepared to be shot or even sprayed water all over. Haha!!

The same happened the 2nd day..and so did the 3rd and final day.

And that's actually when I kinda let go and partied heads on with fellow tourists and Thais!

More wet. More street walk. More powder! And of course more laughter and smiles.

And that was my Songkran in Bangkok! Owh and to add, I'd love to be back next year!! :)

Me & You Lyrics

First up - I went to Bangkok recently, and just got back! Arggh, I miss that place! :)

Anyway, while I'm there, I took some time to work on my side project - Summer Love the webseries.

What I did there was to write the lyrics for the 1st song for the series.. which btw, is Kpop inspired song. The song has been up about 1.5 weeks now.. but I needed some inspiration to write the lyrics.. and yeah, I got it while in Bangkok!! Yeah, you can say the City of Angels touched me in more ways than one! :))

Anyway, without further ado, here is the 1st draft of the lyrics!!

*I've changed the title of the song from Be My Girlfriend to Me & You... read the lyrics, and you'll know why :)

Rap intro:
Hey pretty girl
Don't be shy
Let's get together
You and I

Oh my lil baby

You look so pretty
Big eyes are so lovely
My heart very likey

BabyYou and me and me and me.. And you.. And you and you

Together we can be and be and be.. all our dreams come true

Can u just pause baby

Hold my hand with me
I really want b with you
So much that we can do

BabyYou and me and me and me.. And you.. And you and you

Together we can be and be and be.. all our dreams come true

Chorus:

You and me
We'll be so cool
Promise I'll always love u and only u
Baby u know my heart  it beats with u
So baby why don't u say together me and u

RAP:

I'm not gonna catch no grenade
I ain't no Batman or Bruno mars
But I'll promise to make you happy
As long you are with me

Come on baby

You know you want me
Just say you do
And I'll be with you
Hugging u, kissing u
Oh yes baby, that's what I'll do

Can u just pause baby

Hold my hand with me
I really want b with you
So much that we can do

BabyYou and me and me and me.. And you.. And you and you

Together we can be and be and be.. all our dreams come true

*Good friend & business partner, Ben CMX (aka Bensabenteuer) composed the song.

Chicken Wings From Wong Ah Wah Restaurant Jalan Alor

Remember I was in Jalan Alor a few weeks back for some food hunt? Well I had wanted to try the famous chicken wings from Wong Ah Wah Restaurant.. but it was closed then (the chefs must have taken some long holiday perhaps?).

Anyway in my mind, I knew I had to try it someday. And that someday was just last Sunday.

This corner restaurant sits at the end of Jalan Alor - in between 2 carpark lots. This makes parking easy.

The place was a lil crowded when we arrived but we managed to find seats.

Looking around, we could see so many people ordering mountain-full plates of the chicken wings.

So as they took our orders, we ordered the must have chicken wings, KL hokkien mee, xiao bai cai vegetables and also the recommended mayonnaise toufu (beancurd).

We waited quite a while for the food to arrive - and I was getting hungry.

Eventually, the food arrived - the other dishes first..

The hokkien mee was good (probably not the best in town but in the yummy category), while the vegetables were a lil salty. The pleasant surprise was the mayonnaise toufu which was unique by itself (never had this before elsewhere).

Owh and finally while half way through dinner, the chicken wings came - all fat and juicy. Yes that's right. That's how to describe these chicken wings.

For unlike most rather thin ones sold at hawkers stalls, the wings here are succulent.. and cooked just nice (not burnt).

Well the verdict? Good lah of course. Definitely a place for both locals and even tourists who wants a taste of KL's good food!

My 48 Hours In Singapore!!

If last year I spent just 36 hours in Singapore, but this time round, I go up one level and make it 48 hours!!

After an itch of wanting to travel again after a 3 months 'hiatus'.. I was looking for a getaway.. but where to that's reasonably affordable yet fun? Check check the flights and Singapore was going for RM175 return! That's way ok!

Oh btw buddy Ben wanted a getaway too and so off to the island we were!!

Friday night was a lil quiet for us as we arrived near midnight. The jalan jalan started off the next day.

So what did I do in that 48 hours? Let these iPhone photos (ok, I have to add, with Instagram edits) tell the story :)
